3Sekretär war; im Posideon am elften, dem zwölften (Tag) der Prytanie;
4Haupt-Volksversammlung; von den Vorsitzenden leitete die Abstimmung So-
5sistratos S.d. Sosippos aus dem Demos Kydathenaion und seine Mitvorsitzenden.
6Beschluss von Rat und Volk; Phytios S.d. Pamphilos aus dem Demos Thorikos
7stellte den Antrag: Da Strombichos, früher im Heer gedient
8bei Demetrios und zurückbelassen in der Stadt zusammen mit
9Spintharos, als das Volk die Waffen für seine Freiheit
10ergriff und auch an die Soldaten appellierte, sich auf Seiten
11der Stadt zu stellen, dem Volk (in seinem Aufruf) zur Freiheit gefolgt und
12die Waffen auf Seiten der Stadt ergriffen hat in der Ansicht, man dürfe sich nicht
13gegen die Interessen der Stadt stellen, sondern Miturheber
14für die Rettung werden; er auch das Mouseion belagert hat zusammen mit
15dem Volk, und als der Stadt diese Aktionen gelungen waren,
16er unermüdlich auch weitere Dienste beständig erwiesen
17und festgehalten hat an seinem Wohlwollen für das Volk; und
18als der Krieg ausbracht, er sich als vortrefflicher Mann erwiesen - - - und
19in seinem Kampf alles diensteifrig getan hat, was der General anordnete;
20und er auch für die Zukunft ankündigt, Dienste zu erweisen
21dem Volk der Athener - - -

1In the archonship of Nikias of Otryne, in the sixth prytany,
2of - - -, for which Isokrates son of Isokrates of Alopeke was
3secretary. On the eleventh of Posideon, the twelfth of the
4prytany. Principal Assembly. Of the presiding committee Sosistratos
5son of Sosippos of Kydathenaion was putting to the vote and his fellow presiding committee members.
6The Council and People decided. Phytios son of Pamphilos of Thorikos
7proposed: since Strombichos, who formerly served on campaign
8with Demetrios, when he had been left behind in the town with Spintharos,
9and the People had taken up arms for freedom
10and appealed that he place his soldiers
11in the service of the city, he put himself at the service of the People for their freedom
12and placed his armory on the side of the city, thinking that he should not stand in the way
13of what was in the interests of the city but share responsibility for
14its preservation, and he joined the People in the siege of the
15Mouseion, and after affairs had been concluded in favour of the city
16he has continued to provide unstintingly its remaining needs
17and has remained steadfast in his good will for the People, and
18when war came he was a good man - - - and
19he has striven to serve in every way according to what the general
20ordered and for the rest [of time he proclaims that he will render
21service to the Athenian People] - - -
